Aloha and welcome to paradise. As soon as you walk off the plane you feel the tropical island vibes. From the Hawaiian music playing throughout the terminal to the island air greeting you as you exit the terminal doors. There truly is something special about the Hawaiian Islands and it’s people. The history of the Hawaiian Islands dates back 1,500 years ago when Polynesians navigated the waters of the Pacific Ocean and landed on these islands. Today, Hawai’i is a true cultural melting pot. Hawaii’s culture of today is a mix of the Native culture along with those who migrated from China, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, and others who came to work the sugar plantations in the 1800’s. Over the years, as this ‘pot’ continued to ‘add’ and ‘mix’, it has created a place with all types of amazing foods with traces of their origins. The island of Oahu has so many things to do and see that you don’t want to miss out on. I would highly recommend renting a vehicle during your stay so that you can wander the island and see more than just the famous beaches of Waikiki.
